Making Tax Digital for ALL VAT Registered Businesses

Are you using spreadsheets or other manual records to prepare your VAT return? Then you will need to consider ways to replace the existing process with a software driven approach for recording VAT details and filing VAT returns.

Since April 2019, VAT registered businesses with a turnover above the VAT threshold need to keep VAT records digitally and send returns using Making Tax Digital (MTD) compatible software. MTD requires you to use software for everyday accounting and asks you to keep digital accounting records.

From April 2022, these requirements will apply to all VAT registered businesses, including those with a turnover below the VAT threshold.
